The Sun as Seen From...

IN SHORT - The more one gets distant from the Sun, the more

the latter is getting seen at a lesser apparent diameter

The Sun is our star, 93,000 miles (150 million km) from us, and dazzling. The Sun, as seen from the Earth, however, is just ½° in apparent diameter. Just try one day to hide the Sun with you litte finger at arm's length, and you will see that you just actually screen the Sun! The nearer or the farther the Sun, in our solar system and its apparent diameter will vary -in more, or in less! The following diagram is just showing how the Sun is looking as seen from the various planets of the solar system!

Roughly, the diagram is undersized by 2. That is that, should you want to see what the Sun really look like, naked-eye, from such or such planet, you have to magnify the diagram by 2. Just try with a simple picture editor, pulling your chair back by one arm's length!
